Tinker Robot Team

The future intelligent robotics team currently has more than 50 active members, covering more than ten faculties, including automation, electronics, computers, machinery, and the Academy of Fine Arts. They gather together with common hobbies, and establish an interest-oriented and project-oriented team operation model.

About us

Tinker @ Rocobup

The Tinker team has been participating in the RoboCup@Home competition since 2014. The competition is aimed at home service scenarios and examines robot dynamic mapping and navigation, voice recognition and analysis, item grabbing and placement, human body recognition and interaction and other technologies. After several years of accumulation and improvements, Tinker has become a strong team with a high technology level.

Tinker @ IROS

In the 2019 IROS Robotic Grasping and Manipulation Competition, we won the first place and honorary team in two task categories. More than ten research institutions including universities participated in this competition, for example the University of Cambridge, MIT, University of Birmingham, University of Colorado and Tsinghua University, etc. Hence our success proved the feasibility and advanced nature of the robotic arm module.

About FuRoC & Tinker

Future Robotics Club, or FuRoC in short, develops from a student club that is made up of undergraduates from Tsinghua University, focusing on advanced robots, artificial intelligence technology and the related fields.

Future Robotics Club currently has more than 50 members, covering more than ten faculties, including automation, electronics, computers, software, precision instrument, electrical machinery, machinery, academy of aviation, and academy of fine arts. Together, we have established an interest-oriented and project-based team. Through project development, technology sharings, regular meetings, participations in international competitions and other activities, we maintain attention to the research dynamics and industrial development of robot-related fields at home and abroad, as well as continuous attempts to advanced technologies. Our team is a place for students to give play to their strengths and interest, and to grow together. Tinker participates in a lot of worldwide competitions each year.

Our approach involves tackling dexterous manipulation and grasping techniques in robots through a learning-based methodology. To facilitate our research, we have developed the SAPIEN simulation platform and conducted extensive investigations in the field of sim-to-real transfer.
